Bella
Hadid has that cool-girl ability to get ahead of trends. For instance: last
year, she was an early adopter of bike shorts and The Matrix-style trench coats.
This year’s proposal: She’s revisiting an ’80s classic.
Today,
Hadid touched down in Milan, where she will presumably walk in shows during
Men’s Fashion Week, and made the case for the extra-wide, over-the-top
statement belt. (Think back to the Gianni Versace era.) The runway star was
spotted in a gingham blazer and skirt set, which in itself had a dash of Working
Girl inspiration. Overtop, she then cinched her waist with a
white grommeted belt, which was extra wide with a large gold buckle.
Considering
fellow supermodel Kate Moss was
also recently spotted in one, it’s safe to say the big belt is
making a comeback. Meanwhile, Hadid accessorized her take by carrying a cutesy
heart-shaped bag. On her feet, she slipped on a pair of chunky creeper boots in
patent that gave the look some modern edge. Of course, she couldn’t resist
wearing her signature tiny sunglasses, too.
